Marcel Kessler

Chair of the Board 

Marcel Kessler has been a director of Pason Systems Inc. since 2012 and currently serves as the Chair of Pason’s Board of Directors. Mr. Kessler served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of GrafTech International Ltd., a publicly traded leading manufacturer of high-quality graphite electrode products, from 2022 to 2023, and was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Pason from 2011 to 2020. Before joining Pason in 2011, Mr. Kessler was President, North America, of Exploration Logistics Group, an assistance, medical, safety and security solutions provider, President and Chief Executive Officer of CCR Technologies, a provider of solvent reclaiming services, and a Partner at McKinsey & Company, a management consulting firm. Mr. Kessler holds a Masters in Engineering with Distinction from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and a Masters in Finance from the London Business School. Mr. Kessler has been awarded his ICD.D designation by the Institute of Corporate Directors.

James Bowzer

Director

James Bowzer has over 35 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry. He has served as a director of Bonavista Energy, a private oil exploration & production company which was acquired by Tourmaline Oil in 2023, and Baytex Energy Corp., an oil and gas exploration & production company headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. He previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Baytex (2012 to 2017) and spent 30 years at Marathon Oil Corporation, an oil and gas exploration & production company headquartered in Houston, Texas, where he served in multiple roles, including Vice President of North American Production Operations and Regional Vice President of International Production (1982 to 2012). Mr. Bowzer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Wyoming and completed the Advanced Management Program at the Graduate School of Business at Indiana University.

Sophia Langlois

Director

Sophia Langlois is a corporate director with over 28 years of experience in the energy sector. As a public company audit partner with KPMG LLP in Calgary (2006 to 2020), she served domestic and international companies including many in the energy services sector. She also led the Corporate Services group for KPMG Calgary and was the KPMG National Audit Partner in charge of People Strategy for three years. Ms. Langlois is presently a board member, compensation committee member and Chair of the audit committees for Endo, Inc. and Alaris Equity Partners. She has been involved with numerous not-for-profit organizations and is presently on the board of Telus Spark Science Centre. She received her Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary, holds a Chartered Professional Accountant designation and is a member of the Human Resources Institute of Alberta. Ms. Langlois has been granted an ICD.D designation by the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Ken Mullen

Chair of the Audit Committee

Ken Mullen has over 25 years of experience holding various executive and director positions with public and private energy and energy services companies. He is currently a director of Melamaken Adventures Inc. and was previously engaged as a dealing representative with Barometer Capital Management Inc. Prior to this, he was the co-founder and President & CEO of Savanna Energy Services Corp. and President & CEO of Plains Energy Services Ltd. He currently serves on the board of Total Energy Services Inc. Mr. Mullen received his Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws degrees from the University of Calgary and holds Chartered Accountant and Institute of Corporate Directors designations.

Laura Schwinn

Chair of the Corporate Governance and Nomination Committee, and Lead Director

Laura Schwinn is a former C-suite executive/independent business advisor with over 30 years of experience in in the energy and petrochemical industries. Ms. Schwinn was President of W. R. Grace & Co.’s Specialty Catalysts business, a leading global supplier of catalysts and engineered materials (2018 to 2023). Prior to this, Ms. Schwinn was the CEO of C&C Reservoirs, a cloud-based analogue intelligence system for upstream subsurface applications delivering solutions to challenges across the oil and gas lifecycle (2014 to 2017).  Before joining C&C Reservoirs, Ms. Schwinn worked for 12 years at Halliburton, one of the world's largest providers of products and services to the energy industry, with increasing roles of responsibility culminating in her role as Global Leader, Vice President, Drill Bits and Services (2010 to 2013). Ms. Schwinn has also held international business development roles with Schlumberger Corporation. Ms. Schwinn earned her Bachelor of Commerce degree in International Business from the University of Victoria, Canada. She has served on boards in the U.S., Canada, the Middle East, and China.

Jon Faber

President and Chief Executive Officer 

Jon Faber is President, Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Pason Systems Inc., holding overall management responsibility of the company. He helps shape the growth agenda and future of Pason. 

Jon originally joined Pason as Chief Financial Officer in March 2014. Before coming to Pason, Jon worked in investment banking with National Bank Financial and Wellington West Capital Markets. 

Jon received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Brock University and a Master of Business Administration from Purdue University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Business Valuator, and Chartered Professional Accountant designations. Jon has also completed the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Celine Boston

Chief Financial Officer

Celine Boston oversees various responsibilities in her role as Chief Financial Officer, including finance and accounting, risk management, treasury, and tax, as well as acts as the financial spokesperson with Pason's external stakeholders. Celine joined Pason in 2020 and brings significant knowledge in the energy services sector. She has a broad range of finance and accounting experience, including leadership in treasury, banking relations, and financial planning and analysis.

Before joining Pason, Celine was Director of Finance at CES Energy Solutions, overseeing the global finance function. Previously, Celine worked in the audit and advisory practice at Deloitte, where she obtained her Chartered Accountant designation.

Celine holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of Manitoba.

Kevin Boston

Vice President, Commercial 

Kevin Boston leads commercial strategy for Pason’s core business and works closely with subsidiaries, including Energy Toolbase and Rawabi Pason LLC, to identify additional corporate development opportunities.  Kevin joined Pason in 2010 and has previously served in a variety of senior leadership roles, including VP - Corporate & Business Development, VP – Product Management & Marketing, VP – International, and General Manager – 3PS Inc. 

Kevin began his career in financial services and later worked as a management consultant for Oliver Wyman’s Corporate Finance and Restructuring practice, where he advised private equity and corporate clients on strategic investments in manufacturing, transportation, and energy companies.  He has worked extensively throughout Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and North America over the past 20 years. 

Kevin holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas.

Craig Bye

Vice President, Cloud Platform & Applications

Craig Bye leads the research, development and operations of Pason's cloud platform and applications. He joined Pason in 2006 as a systems engineer. During his tenure at Pason, Craig has held various progressive R&D, IT and DevOps management and director roles. Previously, he held the position of Director, Software Development - Drilling Management Applications.

Craig has 20+ years of software development experience. Prior to joining Pason, he was a software developer in the telecommunications industry working with embedded software and real-time systems.

Craig has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering degree from the University of British Columbia. He is a registered Professional Engineer with APEGA.

Natalie Fenez

Vice President, Legal & Corporate Secretary

Natalie Fenez leads Pason’s legal team and is responsible for the oversight of the company’s legal affairs and policies worldwide.

Natalie has nearly 20 years’ experience practicing law both in-house and in private practice. She has significant experience in drafting and negotiating complex contracts, mergers and acquisitions, business functions and operations, corporate governance, employment law, dispute resolution, and securities and regulatory compliance. Before joining Pason, Natalie served as Legal Counsel for the Corporate Services departments at the City of Calgary and Alberta Health Services. Prior to that, she worked in private practice as a member of the Tax group of Miller Thomson LLP. Since joining Pason in 2017, Natalie has held the roles of Legal Counsel and Director, Human Resources.

Natalie holds a Law degree from the University of Moncton, New Brunswick, and a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in Accounting from the University of Manitoba.

Heather Hantos

Vice President, Human Resources

Heather Hantos leads the human resources department, with a focus on recruitment and retention, employee recognition, compensation, training and development, and performance management. She oversees HR programs and initiatives that enhance the employee experience and represent Pason’s culture and values.

Heather joined Pason in 2011, and during her tenure has held numerous roles within the Human Resources department. Prior to joining Pason, she held various Human Resources and Project Management positions with a focus on recruitment for oil and gas service companies.  

Heather holds an Associate of Science Degree in Business from Columbia Southern University.

Bryce McLean

Vice President, Operations

Bryce McLean is responsible for Pason's Operations teams, including the North American field organization, remote support, supply chain and other centralized support services. Pason's Operations teams provide best-in-class customer support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Since Bryce joined Pason in 2011, he has held various positions in Canada and the US, including Vice President, Legal & Corporate Secretary, Director of US Operations, and General Manager of Canadian Operations. 

Before joining Pason, Bryce practiced business law at Field Law in Calgary. 

Bryce holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in Marketing from Valley City State University, and a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Alberta's Faculty of Law.

Lars Olesen

Vice President, Product and Technology 

Lars Olesen leads the strategic planning, development, and commercialization of Pason’s innovative suite of rigsite and office products.

Lars joined Pason in 1999 as the company’s first marketing and sales representative. During his tenure Lars has held numerous progressive sales, business development, and product management roles, with the most recent being Vice President, Product Management. 

Prior to Pason, Lars spent several years with a directional drilling company in a well planning and sales capacity. 

Lars holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary.

Russell Smith

Vice President, International 

Russell Smith leads Pason's International Business Unit, including field operations, sales, health and safety, logistics, and related support services. The International Business Unit, headquartered in Houston, Texas, oversees Pason's business interests and provides support to customers in Latin America, Australia, offshore, regions in the Middle East and Africa, as well as our Joint Venture company in Saudi Arabia. 

Russell joined Pason in July 2010 and most recently held the position of Vice President, Business Development and Marketing. He has over 25 years of oilfield-related experience in business development, sales, and general management. Before joining Pason, Russell held various roles with global responsibility at Halliburton and Knowledge Systems. 

Russell has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M University. Russell has also completed the General Management Program at the Harvard Business School.

Ryan van Beurden

Vice President, Rigsite Research & Development 

Ryan van Beurden leads the research and development of Pason's rigsite suite of products. 

Ryan joined Pason in 2002 as a mechanical engineer. During his tenure at Pason, Ryan has held various progressive R&D design, hardware management and director roles. Before his current role, Ryan held the position of Director, Rigsite Products. 

Before joining Pason, he gained experience working in gas compression manufacturing; engineering, procurement, and construction; and developing SCADA systems at an E&P operator. 

Ryan has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with Distinction degree from the University of Calgary. He is a registered Professional Engineer with APEGA.
